Privacy Policy

DanceMark ("we", "us") is a lesson-planning app for dance teachers, operated by Nicole Testa, trading as DanceMark, in Florida, United States. Nicole Testa is responsible for your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: DanceMarkApp@outlook.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), display name, and an optional profile photo.
• Content you create: classes, lesson plans, notes, skills, calendar entries, class photos, studio information, and anything you share with other teachers or substitutes.
• Community content: questions, ideas, and answers you post, plus "helpful" marks, follows, and bookmarks. Posts and answers are visible to every signed-in DanceMark teacher, under your display name, or, if you choose to post anonymously, showing only your role (for example, “Teacher”).
• Reports and blocks: if you report content or block someone, we keep a record so we can review it and keep the block in place.
• Subscription status: if you buy DanceMark Pro, Apple processes the payment. We receive only whether your subscription is active, which plan it is, and when it renews or expires, never your card details.
• Waitlist sign-ups: if you join the waitlist on our website, your first name, email address, your role (for example, dance teacher or studio owner) and the options you tick.
• Basic technical logs: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request times) for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, we do not use third-party analytics or advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

• To run the app: sign you in, store and sync your work, and show it to the people you choose to share it with.
• To provide Pro features to subscribers.
• To keep Community safe: review reports and remove content or accounts that break our Terms of Use.
• To contact you about your account (for example, email confirmation).
• If you joined the waitlist: to email you about DanceMark’s launch, early access and the features you asked to hear about. Every email lets you unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your waitlist details at any time.

We never sell your personal information.

Why we can use your information

• Contract: to provide the app and the features you sign up for, including Pro.
• Legitimate interests: to keep the service and Community secure and safe (for example, reviewing reports and preventing abuse).
• Consent: for waitlist emails. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.
• Legal obligation: where we must keep records, such as for tax purposes.

Who can see your information

• Studio members can see your name and photo, and the studio classes and plans you work on.
• People you share with (plan shares, substitute assignments) can see what you share and your name.
• All signed-in teachers can see your Community posts and answers and your display name.

Service providers

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage (servers in the United States).
• RevenueCat: manages subscription status for in-app purchases.
• Apple: processes App Store payments.
• Netlify: hosts our website and receives waitlist sign-ups.
• Brevo: sends our emails, such as account confirmation.

These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers store data in the United States. If you use DanceMark from outside the US, your information is transferred to and stored in the US, protected by our providers' data processing agreements.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, personal classes and plans, skills, calendar, uploaded photos, and Community posts and answers are permanently deleted. If you taught for a studio, the studio keeps its own copy of those classes. Reports you filed may be kept for moderation records. Waitlist details are kept until launch communications are finished, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Delete Account.
• Edit your name, email, and photo in Profile → Edit Profile.
• To request a copy of your data, or for any other privacy request, email DanceMarkApp@outlook.com. Wherever you live, you can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, object to how it's used, or get a copy of it. We'll respond within one month.
• If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the privacy regulator where you live, though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Children

DanceMark is built for dance teachers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted by row-level security so each person can only reach the data they are allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
